England should give Sam Curran a chance to bat in the middle order in T20

When someone says that an all-rounder is adaptable, it's not always a good thing. This means he can bat and bowl, but teams often don't use him to his advantage. This has happened to Sam Curran in his T20 career. He is a middle-order batsman who does well when he has time to settle down.

Curran's T20 batting record for England is not great: he averages 12.95 and scores slowly. But when he batted at No. 4 in the Caribbean, he did well. He should be given a chance to bat higher in the order. He averages 27.90 when he bats at Nos. 3-5, but only 15.98 when he bats below.

England have to decide what to do with Curran. His coach Tom Moody says Curran has often been used in the wrong role. Curran likes responsibility and does well when he has a clear role. He recently performed well in the men's hundred, batting higher up the order and hitting several sixes. He should be given the chance to do the same for England.

Sam Curran's batting has been very good. He's not just hitting the ball, he's batting right. He's not just coming in and trying to hit sixes on every ball. He's taking his time.  Has been and has been playing really well for some time, even in other competitions.

His coach Tom Moody thinks Curran is a special type of batsman.   He says that Curran is a power timer who needs time to play his shots.   Curran likes to feel valued and knows his role.   He is not trying to hit every ball, but instead, he is playing smart and timing the ball well.

Karan has shown that he can also be an excellent bowler, especially when the conditions are right.   But he can struggle with short boundaries in some places.   England should try him in different roles to see which one works best.

England need to find a new left-arm batsman for the next T20 World Cup.  They tried Moeen Ali last time, but it didn't work.   They should give Karan a chance to bat higher in the order and see if he can perform well.   This is a great opportunity for England to learn something new and find a long-term solution for their middle order.
